About the Green Signal Initiative
The Green Signal Initiative is a voluntary identification program designed to improve the safety and outcomes of interactions between individuals living with Severe Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and first responders, law enforcement, and emergency health workers.
This Site provides information about the program for educational and informational purposes.
IMPORTANT: Not an Emergency or Medical Service
The Green Signal Initiative is not a medical provider, mental health treatment service, crisis intervention service, or emergency response service.
• This Site does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• Nothing on this Site should be interpreted as clinical guidance or a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.
• Participation in the Green Signal Initiative does not guarantee any particular outcome during interactions with first responders, law enforcement, or emergency personnel.
• The green bracelet and identification components are communication tools only. They do not confer any legal status, protection, or entitlement.

• Use the Green Signal Initiative name, logo, or branding
• Reproduce, adapt, or distribute the Green Signal training curriculum or program materials
